Most new Decky plugins never make it onto the Decky plugin store, or take a very long time. This is due to various reasons, including lengthy review processes, prohibiting AI use in plugin creation, and disagreements between plugin creators on Discord.
DeckyHub is meant to be an easier way to find and manage plugins that aren’t on the store. This comes with tradeoffs, there’s less quality control and security checks on the plugins. But it should still be really nice for access to a wider range of plugins. It’s also nice for when a steam update breaks a plugin, and you’re stuck waiting two weeks for the plugin update that fixes it.
Right now DeckyHub has 531 plugins available, vs 116 for the official Decky store.

I really appreciate the Decky team reviewing plugins, but the delay can be unfortunate, especially when you’re waiting on a fix for a broken plugin. It also means a lot of devs don’t submit their plugins at all while they’re under active development, resulting in a lot of new plugins taking months (if ever) before they show up on the store.
Thanks for the clarification on AI use, I was under the impression they had a full ban on it.
As for the NonSteamLaunchers ban, I fully respect them banning the creator from the discord, but the plugin itself was legitimately useful, and hasn’t been replaced. It getting removed from the Decky store was a loss for users I think. I remember trying to figure out what led to the ban before, and it seemed like it was just an argument between different devs. There wasn’t anything the NSL dev did/said that was racist as far as I can tell.
