I would say its mostly inspired by Gamma World. Like its nearly, very nearly, as 1:1 as you can reasonably expect. God I miss playing Gamma World.

I only emulate. Its way more convenient. Load my shit up into my network, and I always have it on a main drive or a backup. It just makes no financial sense to own the physical ones when I can download it for free and just use my existing equipment. Yeah, it got ruined hard and nobody could preserve it in a way for everyone to enjoy because someone’s taint will hurt if someone else posts 30 year old abandonware.

Amazing game, my brother and I played multiplayer to death as kids. Its actually extremely challenging on the single player part. I miss games being all weird and unique, such a great time for new ideas.

Because it is a time where you picked something up to be transported away from your worries, or just to have a bit of fun. You turned it on, hit start, and for the most part that was it. There were no season passes on the NES. There was no bullshit shoved in your face constantly. It was just the game, and that was it. My kids are shocked when I tell them about the flash game days, or the late 90’s with an N64. If I was there for the commodore and atari days I’m sure I’d have more to say.

I love Arch, so SteamOS it is. If I were you, I would just make sure I know how to get SteamOS reinstalled properly. Then just check out the Nobara OS yourself. You’ll never truly know until it is in your hands.

Its because the xone dongle uses a proprietary frequency that WiFi doesn’t interfere with. I would have assumed they’d love to ship the Deck with the necessary libs to enjoy wireless gaming. But got’ dayum, they didn’t even think about it. So I had to buy some whack ass 3rd party wired controllers (not 8BitDo those don’t work without some setup) and my kids can now game without my help. And ontop of all this controller nonsense I still have to unplug the AC adapter for the Deck Dock and plug it back in to get the TV to see it after a nap. It would have been easier to buy old Steam hardware that doesn’t have these issues. Still love the Deck tho.

You pretty much can’t game over bluetooth. Idk why they thought that would suffice. Maybe if you have next to no signals bouncing around the room you’re in it would be fine.
