I’m looking to use it for both options. Lighter games I would love to use in standalone mode. Then if I want heavy VR like racing games, I can use my desktop for extra power.

I didn’t play the full generation. I moved to PC in 2009 so I dodged the worst part of the generation. I also wouldn’t say it was the best generation. The reason I would say it was the last good one is the lack of a required install. You could buy a game, then start playing it right away. If I have to sit through an install, I might as well just play on PC.

Damn right they are. Probably the last great console generation before modern monetization practices fully took hold.

I use syncthing for other stuff, but I consider my SteamDeck and HTPC as untrusted devices. I will give ludensavi a look.

• 9 Kings has been great on the deck until you have an army consisting of tens of thousands of soldiers. Then it just gets bogged down.
• Witch Knight: I have been working to finish this game. I do not think bullet hell’s are my thing since I’m not great at the game, but it is enjoyable enough that I want to finish it.

As a side note, is there any built in save syncing for Dark Souls II: SotFS? I started my save on my HTPC but would like to be able to play on either system.

I managed to get one right before it was supposed to be available. I’ll decide if I want to get more later.

I wonder if DDR prices are a factor. They might lose too much with the lower proved model compared to the OLED models.

I wouldn’t be opposed. New community name could be SteamHardware. They share an OS and ecosystem and people interested in one would likely be interested in the others.

I haven’t had any issues with my OLED deck. Every time I take it off the charger it is at 79%.

I think Thrall or someone else from Warcraft should be on there. It is a huge franchise that had its first four titles as PC exclusive.

Another good option would be to have one mascot each from Xbox and PlayStation, as they have braced PC as a platform that they will continue to release games for. Maybe pucking one of the first releases from each would be a good choice.

I think your list also has too many older titles that many PC players have never touched. Most new franchises are going to be cross platform at this point.
