I’ve wanted that one and there was a good one for the NES too. I was just thinking about how I miss the posters we used to get in boxes and magazine.

EDIT: This was another cool one I’ve had my eye on.

Intellivision did actually have a Kool-Aid game, but you didn’t play as Kool-Aid Man. You played as a couple kids trying to find the ingredients to make some Kool-Aid. It still had the Thirsties in it, but the gameplay was very different.

Also, I’m pretty sure that, aside from the games, the Thirsties were exclusive to the official Marvel Kool-Aid comics. I remember them in commercials, but I’m pretty sure I’m Mandela-ing myself and what I’m actually remembering is Pilsbury’s Goofy Grape and the rest of the Funny Face characters.

The funny coincidence is that almost all of the Funny Face characters are depicted drinking from straws on their packages. Which kind of makes me wonder if the 2600 game wasn’t a subtle dig at them.

An excellent game, also similar to King’s Field. Another great PS2 Fromsoft RPG is Evergrace. Horrible translation and voice acting, but interesting when you look at it like a precursor to Elden Ring. Lots of similarities.

Never timed, I don’t have it in me. I love the Castlevania series though. Was just trying to derust CV1 the other night. I used to do race streams with the same guy that edited that video. Always lost, but I could at least do all the damage skips. My timing’s way off now. More of a fan of the Aria games. AoS randos are like my go to boredom game.

My only timed run is Blaster Master. I used to do stuff like Super Metroid old route, Bionic Commando, Kabuki Quantum Fighter, Strider, etc for fun, but never actually submitted.

Original Halo was released in 2001, 23 years ago.

Super Mario Bros was released in 1985, 39 years ago.

There is less time between the release of the first SMB and Halo than Halo and the present day, 16 years…

Took a break from Elden Ring and started playing Chrono Cross in ernest for the first time in over 20 years. I lent my original copy to my best friend and never got it back.

I tried a couple times, but only ever got as far as Viper Manor. I’m almost up to Fort Dragonia now. Boned getting Leena at the start. Took the Save Kid Route. Just got Pip, Skelly, and NeoFio. Disappointed I took Guile instead of Glenn… For a character that’s supposed to be Magus, you’d think he’d be decent at anything, but holy crap… He’s just bad…

Absolutely, getting a PS2 was a game changer for me. DVD playback AND backward compatability. You had PS2, PSX, CD, and DVD all in one. I dumped my VCR shortly after getting it and mothballed my PSX. My 5 disc stereo collected dust until I sold it. Rigged it to my 5.1 speaker system to run on the same line as my computer. Between the PS2 and a properly equipped gaming PC, my bedroom was practically a movie theater, albeit with a tiny ass 22" crt.

They’re actually all considered 6th gen consoles. There’s only a 3 year gap between the Dreamcast and the Xbox.

GameCube and Xbox were both 01, the year Dreamcast was discontinued.

Dreamcast could have been a wild success, probably would have been, too. The major issue was that the Playstation was still totally dominating the market. 98 and 99 were both ridiculously strong years for PSX title releases. Then the PS2 released and totally overshadowed it. Sega just couldn’t keep up… Nobody could. Not until the market kinda leveled out in 05-06.

I saw this when I got my Quest. Had some system issues and totally forgot about it. Doesn’t look like it’s been updated in over a year now though according to the changelog?

Also, I can’t seem to find a discord link on the site. Is it Patreon member only?

Congrats! I wasn’t able to beat it until it came out for the GBA. Still one of my favorites, though I think Legend and IV are my all time favs. To date, they’re still the only ones I’ve finished too.
