Playing Absolum. I’m pretty bad at it, but I’m having fun.

I kind of remember that being an issue way back when the Steam Deck launched. Ever since I always launch games after docking. Bummer to hear it’s still an issue.

Interesting. I do have issues with the stream freezing, and I will have to test if this helps with that. I haven’t used Decky Loader yet, but I guess I found my reason to try it!

Well, there’s an app called DeckSettings that signs badges based on community reports, but they don’t always have reports for games in interested in. Still, it’s good to have, and it’ll grow

Edit: actually the badges are from ProtonDB, which aren’t as useful. E.g. Avowed has a gold badge, but if you read the comments for steam deck, they’re basically all negative.

Same with Avowed. It’s such a blurry mess, I don’t see how anyone can play it on the deck. It does make me question every game now, even when it says verified.

Still, there are tons of games that look and play amazing on it.

I just got a 2nd LCD during the sale. Unfortunately it was broken and I’m still waiting on a replacement. With any luck they’ll send me an OLED one instead 😜

Edit: just got the shipping confirmation, so no luck. Also, not getting it until the 29th. 23 days from reporting the issue to getting a replacement 🤬

Got the Deck at launch. No issues with drift.

The Gunk. I played through it on game pass a few years ago. I was just telling someone about it and then saw that it was only like $3 on Steam, so I bought it. It’s so pretty, and looks great on the deck. I love the voice work, too. And cleaning up the gunk feels so therapeutic right now.

Not sure about diving in… More like dipping their toes. I think it’s great that they’re making windows more usable on different types of devices. To be honest though, all of this sounds like Windows 8, especially the bit about limiting background processes. People were pissed about it then, but I guess maybe now they’ll like it if it makes gaming better (and really, it probably makes everything better. There are so many background processes on my PC, it’s ridiculous).

I’d like to see a Microsoft branded handheld. I’m curious if it would be Xbox or Surface branded…

Eh, my company got that same email from Unity about using personal licenses for production. A simple email reply of: “No, we’re not” did the trick. I wouldn’t get too worried about this.

Oblivion Remastered. Playing via Remote Play, which has given me a decent amount of issues, but when it’s working, it’s great. The game looks gorgeous and has been a ton of fun to play, although I’m having a surprisingly hard time finding side quests. I seem to remember there being more than one or two per town. But whatever, I can always go find a cave, be stealthy and snipe things.

Played the Solasta 2 demo, and still playing Dragon Age Inquisition

I have a silicone case on it, but only because my kids started using it. I also have a dock hooked up to the TV, but I never use it.

Outer Worlds (UE4?) plays well on Deck. I’m confident they’ll get Avowed running well eventually.

Definitely holding off for a while. Maybe by the time the first sale comes around they’ll have given the steam deck some love.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard for both. I didn’t think I would like it all that much. I don’t even remember why I bought it. But I ended up loving it so much 😍

Playing Dragon Age Veilguard. Just finished the first quest, and it’s a lot of fun so far.

Probably more than 50% on steam deck over the last 6 months, though overall I’ve slowed down quite a bit since getting it a year ago.

The last major game I got was Endless Dungeon when that released (maybe in October?), and I did maybe 2 sessions on pc, then played the rest of the time on the deck. So it’s still my preferred platform.

I got Jagged Alliance 3 over the holiday, and found it visually a bit too small on the deck, so I plan to play some on PC until I have a good handle on the game, then switch back to the deck. It’s kind of similar to Solasta, which I first played on pc, but now primarily play on Deck.
